BBC Pop Up, the BBC's travelling bureau, is in India this thirty days and hit the roads of Delhi to movie the solution to the ultimate question: will it be faster to take an autorickshaw or call an Uber?.

On Wednesday mid-day, BBC Pop-Up's Matt Danzico and Vikas Pandey decided to place this into test.

Matt called an Uber while Vikas hailed an autorickshaw. They agreed to race one another from Hailey path in central Delhi to Karol Bagh in west Delhi.

In the beginning, both rivals felt confident in their mode of transport:

But then, the contestants emerged head to head with Delhi's infamous traffic snarls:

However the autorickshaw driver had a strategy up his sleeve.

Which resulted in this inevitable result:

The verdict: Autorickshaws are nevertheless the undisputable leaders of Delhi's roads.

Kudos to Uber about becoming gracious in beat however!

Why did the autorickshaw win?

Vikas Pandey says: "it simply showed that auto drivers truly know Delhi's alleys and bylanes and arbitrary destinations superior to GPS.

"It started out as fun, but became intense and also believed like a Formula one race."

Matt Danzico reckons it absolutely was a battle of human being versus robot brains in the end.

"this can take place only in a country like India where roadways continue to be developed and GPS technology hasn't come far enough to understand developing spaces.
